Are You Really as Ambitious as You Think You Are?

To test your ambition quotient, rate the following statements on a scale of 1 to 5 to indicate how much the statement applies to you. A rating of 1 means it doesn’t apply at all, and 5 means it applies very much.

• I truly enjoy working.
• Given free time, I would rather be out socializing with people than sitting home watching television.
• My first response to a problem is to attempt to figure out the most practical solution.
• One of the things I like best about work is the challenge of it.
• I believe very strongly in the work ethic.
• I have strong desire to get things done.
• When there’s a difficult situation, I enjoy assuming the responsibility for correcting it.
• I frequently come up with ideas-day and night
• I’m not satisfied with the success I already enjoy.
• I rarely miss a day of work because of illness.
• I enjoy vacations, but after four to five days I look forward to getting back to work.
• I can usually get along with six hours of sleep.
• I’m interested in meeting people and developing contacts.
• I set high standards for myself in almost everything I do.
• All in all, I consider myself a lucky person.
• I’m not afraid to rely on my instincts when I have to make an important decision.
• I can think of very few situations in which I don’t dwell on them.
• I’m not afraid to admit it when I make a big mistake.
• Achieving success is very important to me.

Scoring : 85-100 indicates very high ambition. With the right skills , you’re almost certain to achieve your  goals.
70-84 means higher-than-average ambition, and chances of achieving goals are very good. 55-69 is about an average score. If you achieve your goal, it won’t be on ambition alone. A score below 55 indicates that success isn’t an important goal for you.
